How your voice can make you feel better instantly

After three nights of not getting enough sleep, I have woken up feeling exhausted, drained, fragile and slightly paranoid. These feelings are accompanied by a strong pull to feel worse and give up the possibility of this day being great. My commitment to feeling better each moment of my life is strong. Strong enough to propel me into using the easiest, simplest and instantly accessible tool in my toolkit: My Voice.

As I washed up last night's kitchen, and felt awful beyond words (achy head, hayfever, exhaustion, gloom) I began to make soft sounds using the vowel shape ooooh. At first my voice felt like an engine that wouldn't start, so, still determined to improve my experience of me, I raised my pitch to a higher more comfortable note and there I flew… on to more and more ooooh sounds until I could hear the delicate harmonics filtering through my lips and a feeling of harmony began to wash through me.

I felt instantly inspired to write this, my 2nd ever blog, which has been a long standing goal of mine, proving to me, yet again, how vocal toning frees up my creative energy!

That's why I've developed Creative Journeys, together with inspirational musician, Robert Norton. Read, see, hear more at www.creative-journeys.co.uk and www.robertnortonmusic.com
